What is Groupage?
Groupage is a shipment smaller than a full trailer, where the driver loads and unloads at multiple locations. It is essentially a combination of several LTL shipments in one truck. A complete round where the driver has loaded at multiple addresses and unloaded these shipments at multiple locations is called a file.
What is LTL transport?
LTL transport stands for Less than Truckload transport. Literally, this means a truck that is not fully loaded. It refers to goods being transported from an exporter that do not fill the entire truck. In most cases, the truck will therefore be topped up with goods from another exporter.
Difference between LTL and FTL transport
While LTL transport stands for Less than Truckload transport, FTL means Full Truckload transport. In essence, FTL means a full truck and LTL means a truck that is not fully loaded. In most cases, an LTL shipment will be supplemented with cargo from another company so that the truck still operates with a full trailer. The driver then makes one or more extra stops along the way.

Your LTL shipments are delivered super fast by EASY Road Transport! We generally maintain a 2-day transit time between loading and unloading (load Monday = unload Wednesday). The average lead time is therefore 3 days for destinations within our direct service area in Europe. For partial loads, this may sometimes take an extra day. Because we run our trailers back and forth daily, we can load and unload every day of the week.

Anything between 1 and 32 pallets is therefore considered an LTL shipment.

That varies! LTL stands for Less than Truckload transport. Literally, this means a truck that is not fully loaded. How much space the LTL shipment takes up in the truck depends on the size of the shipment. You can calculate your loading meters very easily!
What are general cargo goods?
General cargo refers to goods specified by quantity rather than weight, unlike bulk goods. They are often transported per pallet, per box, or per drum. Examples of general cargo include cars, but also filled drums or bags and boxes filled with, for example, toys.
What is the difference between groupage and general cargo?
The difference between groupage and general cargo is that general cargo is a product that is packaged individually. Groupage is a transport method where multiple shipments are combined into one vehicle to make the flow of goods more efficient.
What is a partial load?
A partial load is the Dutch translation for a Less than Truckload. A partial load means that a truck is not completely full. In many cases, the truck is supplemented with other loads. Groupage, in other words!
