checklist documents transport England

Which documents do you need to transport to the UK?

The Brexit has made the answer to that question more difficult. This checklist makes transport and shipping to England EASY again!

What is Groupage?

Groupage is a shipment smaller than a full truck, resulting in the driver loading and unloading in multiple addresses. Groupage is therefore the combination of multiple LTL shipments in one truck.

What is LTL transport?

LTL transport is short for Less than Truck Load transport. This means that a truck is not fully loaded with one shipment. One exporter does not have enough goods to completely fill up one truck. In most cases, the truck will be topped with the goods of another exporter. This is called a groupage shipment.

Difference LTL and FTL transport

Whereas LTL transport stands for Less than Truck Load Transport, FTL means Full Truck Load Transport. Thus, FTL means a full truck and LTL means a truck not fully loaded. In most cases, an LTL transport will be supplemented with a load from another company, so that the truck will still travel with a full trailer. The driver then makes one or more extra stops along the way.

Fast delivery times

Your LTL transports are delivered superfast by EASY Road Transport! We apply a 2-day transit time between loading and unloading (Monday loading = Wednesday unloading). The average transit time is therefore 3 days for most destinations in our service area. For LTL transports, this can sometimes be an extra day. Because we go back and forth with our trailers every day, we can load and unload any day of the week.

Brexit

Groupage and LTL transports to and from the UK have become a lot more complicated since Brexit. We get that! That is why we try to make this as EASY as possible for you. Our EASY Roaders are up-to-date on the current necessities and regulations. They are ready to answer all your questions!
