11 new EASY Krone trailers
BARENDRECHT – UK transport specialist, EASY Road Transport, has purchased eleven new Krone curtain-side trailers. With this acquisition, the total number of trailers grows to more than eighty. Director Thomas Hilbrands: “We are growing in a challenging market, and that has everything to do with a clear focus and sharp choices.”
EASY Road Transport is a young, fast-growing freight forwarder focusing on providing transport to and from England (United Kingdom). “The Brexit proved to be a fantastic opportunity for us to serve customers who were unsure how to respond to all the supply chain changes. As a freight forwarder, we unburden a large number of shipping companies with transport services and customs activities. The focus on England is paying off.”

Majority of trailers under own management
Since the company’s start in 2020, the number of trailers has increased rapidly. Some of these trailers are leased, but the vast majority are owned by EASY Road Transport. The company uses a flexible shell of several dozen leased trailers to scale up or down as the market demands. Hilbrands: “That was necessary in 2023, for example, but EASY Road Transport is now growing strongly again. Thanks to that development, we felt confident enough to purchase these eleven trailers. I believe that owning trailers pays off in the long run. Even after five or six years of use, they represent a certain residual value.”
Curtain-side trailers for UK transport
EASY Road Transport utilizes the new Krone trailers for providing non-refrigerated transport to and from England. The emphasis is on the transport of wood, steel, machinery, (electric) bicycles, cars, and automotive-related parts. “We have a dedicated group of ADR drivers in both the Netherlands and England to transport hazardous materials as well. We handle many automotive-related goods. Both the automotive and battery markets are interesting growth sectors because England is trying to become less dependent on European and Asian countries and is therefore investing in these industries.”
The choice for Krone
By now, the entire trailer fleet of EASY Road Transport comes from Krone. The vast majority of the curtain-side trailers are equipped with our own look & feel. “It was very nice to see our EASY trailers at the production site in Werlte, Germany.” The trailers are equipped with track & trace equipment as standard, allowing EASY Road Transport planners to follow them in real-time. “Choosing one type of trailer makes things like preparation for use and maintenance simpler.”
